In my first year of going to the gym for weightlifting and meal prepping to eat clean I got some dramatic results. I followed a pretty standard bulking routine followed by a cutting routine. The idea is that it’s a lot easier to gain muscle while gaining overall weight (the bulking phase) and then to lose some overall weight to lean down a bit and better reveal that muscle (the cutting phase).
