And yet I’m still afraid of running out of ideas.

I published my first story on Medium in October of 2019. I had just given a talk to a classroom full of high school seniors about how “What do you want to be when you grow up?” is a stupid question. The talk received a lot of positive feedback, so I decided to adapt it into an article on this cool platform I had discovered named Medium. The platform was clean and fun to write on and that very first piece even got picked up by a publication.

So in 2020 I decided to start writing regularly on Medium and got into a nice cadence of two pieces most weeks. Two pieces a week was totally manageable and I actually really enjoyed the process of writing and publishing on Medium.

Out of that consistency, I found some pretty good success in the first half of 2020. The majority of those pieces were chosen for further distribution and published in reputable publications here on Medium.

I also had financial success. I started making a couple thousand dollars most months and…
